Check out the TaxidermyNet. You can click on the states that you are interested in, and find taxidermists with websites in those states. Most have pictures and pricing available online.

NJDeer N Beer,

If you don't mind the drive up to West Paterson I think you will be more then happy with the taxidermist I mentioned, he is truely one of th best around, and he does skin mounts. I will tell you now you will pay top dollar cause his work is that good, and you will wait longer then most cause he is that busy, but well worth it all

NJ, Im not sure if George is still doing skin mount fish, or even taking many fish in right now, I know hes swamped. Hes definitely in the top two or three in the east, for sure. I can say so with certainty, Im a taxidermist, and Ive been to his studio and also judged his fish work at shows. There are very few who can detail a fish as he does. My advice to you, however, would be to get an old dish towel, soaking wet, wrap the fish into it, and put that into a plastic bag and freeze. Then check out some work, and not feel rushed. George Dante in NJ, Rick Krane in NH, Rick Streeter in NY, those are some very high end fish taxidermists. Be aware that many of the finest taxidermists are sometimes specialists, and many do not advertise...
