Cut the tail off with all the meat attached. Next, remove the meat from the feather quills with a fork or other tool and be careful not to cut yourself. Once all or mostly all ( try to get all of it off that you can )of the meat is removed, place the tail on a large flat piece of cardboard and fan it out into the position you want it to dry in. Next,place some small cardboard strips ( 1" X 6" cereal box cardboard for example )across the feathers to hold them in place and staple them through the feathers to the large piece of cardboard. Next,get some 20 Mule Team Borax ( powdered laundry soap), and coat the base of the tail ( where you removed the meat from ), on top and underneath. Now just let it dry for a week or so and it should hold it's shape! Congrats on your bird!!
