Default European mount prep

I have been gathering info here on preparing a skull/antlers for a European mount that I will do myself. Can someone give me a tip or guide on how to actually remove the part of the skull I want to keep. (I will probably process the deer myself). I have removed horns with a hack saw many times but want to do a good job prepping for a European mount. thx Ray
