Default Pickling (deer skin) and hydrated lime (buck skin)?

I havea few(5)hides. With two or three,I plan to make into wall hangers and wit the remaininginto buck skins. For the wall hangers, I plan to useMcKenzie'sDeer Skin Tanning kit and make the picklesolution with vinagar.

For the buck skins, should Isimplynot use the vinagarand usehydrated lime to remoe the hair? Is hydrated lime readilyavailable?

Thanks.
