Default Quail

Are there any kits for mounting a quail??? Would it be hard, or am I just better off taking it to a pro? Looking for something to pass the time. I've never skinned and mounted any type of bird before and don't know where to begin.

Default RE: Quail

I wouldn't start with a Quail as my first bird to mount. The skin isvery fragile, and you will most likely get very frustrated. Take it to a pro. If you would like to start mounting your own birds, I would suggest shooting a few crows and start there. They are readily available, and itwon't matter if you ruin a few before you get the hang of it. Just my 2 cents.
