Shed Antler Mounting Systems

Just looking for some feedback on different shed antler mounting systems. I have a pair of shed antlers, that I'm thinking of mounting. I see there are the type that look like a skull plate with large screw-bolts sticking out of them. And I see others which look to have more adjustments, but are more expensive.

I haven't used either, but it would assume the ones that are adjustable would allow me to mount the antlers and then move them into the correct position. Then bondo or sculpt a skull plate, and you'd be done.

Am I right in my thinking? Do you have any experience with either? Thanks
