Hi all, I'm new to this forum and my name is Nina. I'm 15 and enjoy deer hunting with my dad. I've been doing taxidermy for about two years now, mounted a few small mammals and about 10 deer shoulder mounts. Just two weeks ago I went to my first taxidermy competition nd convention in Altoona, PA and it was a great experience. I got to meet many of my friends off of the taxidermy.net forums, and even met three master taxidermists, Frank Newmeyer, Fred Vanderburg and Brian Harness. In Brian's seminar on mounting a fox, he asked for a volunteer to work beside him and I got to mount a gray fox pedestal with him. It was fun.

I tried to post pics from the show, but I can't. It won't let me copy and paste, or use the image button on here. [:'(]

Welcome!
I would love to have been at the convention. I'm just now starting to learn taxidermy, but you might already know this from my posts. I wish I would have started when I was your age. It's hard to find the time and energy when you try to start at my age. Good luck on your endeavors.
I have posted many pics for people on here and would be glad to do the same for you. Your file must be resized so it is under 100 kb and you must upload it to the server and check "insert pic in post". If you do not have a suitable program to resize them, e-mail them to me andI will be happy to get them on here. Just click my e-mail button under my username and send them off. I would usually have them up in one day or less.
