Default tips for a beginner

I am a big hunter and fisherman and was interested in trying taxidermy. I found a squirrel mounting kit from VanDykes for $20 and wanted to try it. I am only 16 years old and dont know anything about how to do taxidermy. Just wondering if you guys have any tips Thanks
Joey
