Default treating custom knife sheath??

not sure where to ask this question i thought this wood be a good place i have a custom leather knife sheath that i would like to weather proof. was wondering if there are any sugestions. i was thinking mink oil would probably be the best idea but wanted to get some opinions thank you

I use a coat of neats foot oil and also saddle soap, some of my sheaths are 30 yrs old.
