Default Racoon hide?

Can I use table salt to perserve a hide????

Yes,but make sure it is the non-iodized salt.

To preserve it yes. To tan it NO..... Salt is one of the first steps in preparing a hide for a pickle bath in order to tan it. All salt will do is keep the hide til you get a chance to tan it...
