Default Black Beard Island Whitetail

I think the worst cape I havehad come in the shopwas a cape split up the brisket and one of the arm pit's was cut off to short ( had to sew in skin) and an arrow hole. This was in a Bow season Cape from Georgia so it had realy short hair..... The customer shot the deer on Black Beard Island (off the coast of Georgia) on a Thursday and drug it to the beach in the ocean to field dress it. Had it hung in the cooler 24 hours befor he capes it out and than layed it on the floor untill Sunday around Noon when he put it in a beer cooler with no ice and brought it to the mainland on a boat and drove back to Albany Goergia ( still no ice in the cooler). I got the deer around 7 pm that night. I tanned it in shop. This was whenI first started doing work for customers 3 years ago and it was the first deer brought to me.

your story reminded me of a friends dad, they had a meat processing biz, they started doing deer, women comes by on a tues. with a deer in the trunk of here buick lesabre, ask my friends dad about doing the deer he says sure, tells her how much, goes out to get the deer, and its blowed up like a beach-ball, he ask when was this deer killed, you'll love this part, "just this past sat."[:-], the deer had not been gutted[], he said lady that deer is bad, to which she replies "i have never really cared for deer meat anyway"[:@]wonder why??????????

btw nice job on the mount, the ears look really bright, are they that light or is it because of the sun, just wonderin, cause the throat patch looked good to me, from this angle the brisket and all looks very good, what is ashamed if it had not turned out as good the client would have probably blamed you[:@], just not fair[:@]

I don't think he would have blamed me but you never know. I called him several times and told him that the cape was bad and that he might wanna go ahead and change it out. But finding a cape fora deer like that is almost imposible. That deer was the 3rd largest deer to come off the island at 125 lbs.

I think it is just the picture. I bon't think I put that much white in the ears.
