Well I went to a 3d shoot this weekend and it ended up being one of the worst days I have ever had on the course. I started out shooting and judging yardage fine but then for about7targets in a row i completely lost all concentration and missed 3 targets (broke 1 arrow) and shot ****ty on the other 4.
After these7 targets i seemed to find a rhythm again and shot decent to finish out the course. Anyone else ever have a falling out like this while shooting? The targets i missed were no harder than any otherson the course so i still don't really know what the problem was.
Feel free to share any of your bad days and how and if you corrected the problem on the course.
I personally need to find the mentaility for shooting around here, that I'm shooting for something big. Anytime a shoot has "Championship" or anything serious, I shoot awesome. I'm not saying I shoot terrible the rest of the time, because I don't, but I want to have the ability to flip the switch like that.
Just try not to let it get to you too much. I know it is hard, but trust me you are not the only one out there that has this problem. For me I don't pretty bad the first round the by the second round i can usually add 40 to 45 points to my score. I don't know what it is about it. I guess when I first get out there I stress about how far it is and things like that, and by the second round I just relax and have fun. I am out just for practice so when that "big" deer, or any deer, walks infront of me i know i am on.
Thanks for the replys. Just like any sportI will have mygood days and bad and it was just a bad day. Agreeing with Matt/TN, I also shoot better when I am shooting as competition or shootingagainst friends. I amreally competitive andget into a zone looking to score higher than others. My main overall goal thoughin any 3d shootis to get better for the fall season.
