WOW was it ever windy and cold on our OUTDOOR winter 3D league shoot. (Ya indoor Pansies

)
Eventually turned out to be a very nice day but man I feel like I shot 80 targets I had to let down so many times because of teh heavy wind! There was one target, a Rinehart pantherwhere in one gust I got the pin blown from the X to the tip of his paw all the way back to his tail! [:-] (Yeah I let down!)
Anyway shot pretty well considering the conditions, 30 targets from the long stakes (45 yards max) I shot a 311 w/ 19x's (counting x's as 11)
Shot only four 8's and 3 were just wind aided messes, the 4th was a yardage brainfart on a 38-39yd boar. I gave him about 4 too many.
I am the only guy in our league other than Frank who is shooting fixed pins from the open class stakes in the "IBO Challenge' class and I should still be sitting firmly in 1st place overall with only 3 shoots now remaining out of the 15 total at 5 different clubs. Its a long winter season that starts in the middle of December and goes until April. But it will give me a serious leg up for the big spring shoots because I'll have all that yardage experience.
Frank shot pretty well himself today and has been consistently shooting above his average from last year. He turned in a very respectable 295 w/ 9x's from the same 45yd max stakes.
We'll all get together soon I'm sure, the outdoor 3D season for a lot of places hasn't even begun yet. Me I'm 12 finsihed competitive rounds into it! LOL
