Default Nice shoot today.

As the indoor course is getting harder and harder as the weeks go for their league, we're having a good time shooting along. Unfortunately two of our shooters couldn't make it today, BPBowhunter and tkycaller had other commitments so it left Nate and I along with twildsin and bowtechben.

I shot a good round, 304 and we were shooting for twelves so I finished with a 324 on 32 small well placed targets. Today we had two spinning targets, the turkey which I glanced on off last week, today I managed to 10 it....retrobution..LOL and a raccoon who got me for a 5.

Nate and I keep seperate bet on the score, this week I won as he shot a 300 but managed a 324 with 12's also. Ben really got his act together and shot his best score with a heck of a string of 10's. Tim was struggling with a couple targets as his shoulder strengthens but I think managed to have a good time. We all talked smack and many nocks were in trouble although they all came away unscathed. Ben managed to ruin one of Nates fletch jobs though on a well placed 12.

It's amazing how one can go from one week shooting his worst score (My score last week) to shooting a very good score. According to their league standings, a 304 is exceptional as their top shooter (scope) is only shooting that to perhaps a 309. My best their is a 308. (no twelves).

Again, 32 targets, mostly small Reinharts or well placed targets from 2 stories out to 30 yards. Good times.

How'd everyone else shoot if you got out?

I shot the worst I ever have two weeks ago. I won, last weekend. I shot one higher than my worst, today. Talk about a roller coaster ride.....lol.

Sounds like you guys have a great venue....and a great little thing going (getting together and shooting). Hope you guys get outside soon to shoot some tournaments. Congrats to all.....

I hear that. I plan to keep it going for tomorrow in our Gander Mountain League. But if it was easy, everyone would do it. I had a blast today...I have a blast every week. I truly appreciate these Sundays with you guys shooting and LEARNING. When I stumbled on this sight, I had no idea that I would make great friends and learn so much. Thanks for today guys.

DId I ever have a good time! Its always a good time I like it more and more everytime we shoot. There is always something to learn and always fun to be had! I am getting frustrated as I can not shoot as good as I would like to! Then again if it were not for my shoulder surgery and being bored all day I may not of found this sight and discovered some truly great people and freinds to go along with it!
So hopefully tyhe shooting gets better as the time goes on, I mean new bow and new shoulder it can only get better!

Default RE: Nice shoot today.

WOW was it ever windy and cold on our OUTDOOR winter 3D league shoot. (Ya indoor Pansies )
Eventually turned out to be a very nice day but man I feel like I shot 80 targets I had to let down so many times because of teh heavy wind! There was one target, a Rinehart pantherwhere in one gust I got the pin blown from the X to the tip of his paw all the way back to his tail! [:-] (Yeah I let down!)

Anyway shot pretty well considering the conditions, 30 targets from the long stakes (45 yards max) I shot a 311 w/ 19x's (counting x's as 11)
Shot only four 8's and 3 were just wind aided messes, the 4th was a yardage brainfart on a 38-39yd boar. I gave him about 4 too many.

I am the only guy in our league other than Frank who is shooting fixed pins from the open class stakes in the "IBO Challenge' class and I should still be sitting firmly in 1st place overall with only 3 shoots now remaining out of the 15 total at 5 different clubs. Its a long winter season that starts in the middle of December and goes until April. But it will give me a serious leg up for the big spring shoots because I'll have all that yardage experience.

Frank shot pretty well himself today and has been consistently shooting above his average from last year. He turned in a very respectable 295 w/ 9x's from the same 45yd max stakes.

We'll all get together soon I'm sure, the outdoor 3D season for a lot of places hasn't even begun yet. Me I'm 12 finsihed competitive rounds into it! LOL

Good shootin Matt / PA and your right, all that outdoor shooting will give you an advantage when all the shoots actually start.

Matt, how far are you from Lewistown. It's going to be about an hour drive or slightly there after for me but they have a great (looking) indoor 40some targets and it looks to be out to 40 yards or so. We intend on shooting there before the end of the month. (only fridays).

I'm awaiting pictures right now that my buddy took today at the shoot. It really shows the shooting conditions. Let's just say, it involved snow, and quiet a bit. Apparently Norton, VA gets a lot more snow [&:]
