Finding the right lab?
I will be looking for a lab in the future. I have had a black, and a chocolate before. The female black lab "Noel" was the best dog I ever had, she was a great family dog, but most of all she was an awesome bird dog without hardly any training. She would retrieve doves and ducks instinctively and stay by my side. One of her chocolate puppies "sugar bear" would not train. He would retrieve, but would not stay put while hunting. I have seen other labs that came from good blood lines that were gun shy. What is the most important thing to look for when buying a lab puppy to have the instincts to hunt and be a good family dog? thanks
