??? WHATS IT ALL MEAN???

I'm trying to read a certified pedigree from AKC. what do the abbreviations all mean? NAFC, FC ,CFC, CAFC, AFC and what is a canadian nat. open & amt. finalist? (this is'nt show dog stuff is it?). thanks.

Hello lamar,

That stuff is kind of confusing untill you get the hang of it,I'll help you out.

NAFC- National Amateur Field Champion

FC- Field Champion

CFC- ???

CAFC- ???

AFC- Amateur Field Champion

The canadian nat. open&amt finalist just means that the dog is a canadian field dog<img src=icon_smile_question.gif border=0 align=middle>. Don't worry,its not a show dog title.

Also, since it is an AKC pedigree, all of the titles should be on the back of the pedigree. All of mine are like that.

I just figured it out.

CFC- Canadian Field Champion

CAFC- Canadian Amateur Field Champion

...I'm guessing thats what it is.

thanks hunting lab. the pedigrees i was reading were copys of the parents that the breeder gave me. no explanation of any kind.im still waiting on my papers for my pup. lamar.
