Default buring birds

Was wondering if anybody had a cure for a 4 yr old brittany that wil start to retreive then goes and trys to ether hide or bury her birds . She is a fairly soft dog so I cant use to much force on her.If I do use to much force she just quits hunting. Also it just seems to happen when I have more than one dog down at a time.other than this she is a good bird dog.

How much time are you willing to put into training this out of the dog? If it's not 15-30 minutes a day, everyday, for a few months don't bother.
Has she always done this?

Thanks for the reply. Yes she did this when she was younger, but stopped for a couple years. She never was a dependable retreiver. She will play fetch in the yard ok.I do have the time to spend on training.I realy would like to get her to retrieve reliably, as my other britt is getting older and only has a few years left. Thank you.

HEY BRITTANY GUNDOG, DID EITHER OF YOUR DOGS SHOW ANY SIGNS OF GUN SHYNESS AND IF THEY DID HOW DID YOU CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I'VE GOT TWO BRITTANY'S AND THEY ARE NOT FAIRING TOO WELL AROUND A LOT OF SHOOTING. I LIVE WITHIN A MILE OF A LARGE AIRPORT IN ST. LOUIS AND WHEN MILITARY JETS TAKE OFF OR LAND THE DOGS HOWL LIKE CRAZY. DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS MADE THEIR EARS OVER SENSITIVE, BUT HOPE THAT IT HAS NOT.

Goodee Nope they are not gun shy.The air port could be your problem.Ive shot alot of birds over my dogs (av.30-50 a year)and havent had a problem with gun shyness.Just the retreiving part on the youngest female.

Does she do this when hunting alone with her or is she hiding it from the other dog?
