Friends of my wife and I have a Weimaraner. He is a joy to hunt over, though he is just a bit hyper. Great dog though. I've always fancied them.

The best upland dog I ever had and the smartest was a Weimaraner. Unfortunately because I also used him as a retriever under the worst conditions I shortened his life. They are not bred for breaking ice. He was such a big hearted dog that when his feet got sore from just working so hard he would hunt on 3 feet and alternate every little while. I could go on for an hour about this dog but will stop here. Suffice it to say that he exhibited extraordinary behavior that he will always be my best all around dog.

Our Weimar, like most, is so intelligent that when he gets tired of training or just wants attention, he will limp around and pretend like he is hurt.

I believe my next tracking dog will be a weimaraner. Neighbor has some and they track great on their own. I could imagine with some training they'd be great at it.

i was given a weimaraner after his owner didn't use him enough in the field.
the poor thing cried 24-7 for his owner.
i had to give him back.
they are definetly one owner dogs.
if i get one i will get one as a pup.
