Whats the low down on walkers

Hey guys I have a Basset/walker mix. what is the history on walkers? Is she good for anything other than a foot warmer. When I take her out her nose never leaves the ground.

walkers are a coon hound. they are called treeing walkers.i have 5 walkers ,i made one of them night champion in ukc.....go to www.coonhoundcentral.com look in history on walkers...

there are several types of walker.some are treeing walker,and some are just for running.will not tree at all.
We have some in our hunt club for running deer.
there is a fantail walker,my dad had one and was great for running deer.

most people I know use them for running fox.they were the #1 dog for the fox hunting in England........Tally-Ho.
