Default 100 Gundogs die on SD opener

I have voiced my views on this in other forums where this is popping up and I will here. I know the hunters I talked with had problems with their dogs and had short hunts due to the weather but 100 dogs dead in one day " give me a break" . We have had hot weather in past years of the opening of SD hunting and nothing like this has taken place. PETA food !

So are you saying this didnt happen? From the article, it sounds like some
had trouble, the ones that were out of shape.

Yes, Oregun I believe that is what Nulle meant. In our local paper they said something about 20 dogs had suffered from the heat and 5 had died. Problem is the national press gets their info from god knows where prints it up and it suddenly becomes gospel truth. It just goes to show how much " news" is just manufactured by some idiotic journalist.

Sounds possible to me, if some of the guy treated their dogs like our guide. They sit in a cage all day without water. He takes them out to hunt and don' t gives them water during the hunt. Let' s them have some before he sticks them back in the cage and they are on the stake at night when he feeds.

We went to N Dak and hunted the last day of the heat. Boys didn' t even get tired but they are AZ dogs, well conditioned and get water during the hunt. They had a ball.

Yes that is Exactly what I am saying ! We had record heat all summer so the local dogs were used to it also and it is always hot at the first part of the season and nothing like this has come up.
Just some reporter looking for a story other then the good hunting the guys were having.
I am sure there are folks out there that got the dogs in trouble just as this reporter may have wrote on waterfowl hunters having dogs die in the ice and cold in his Own state - But - 100 NO.
