Default Update on Pup with hip displaysia

Thanks to everyone for their advice and kind words.

Unfortunately, my pup died while coming out of anesthesia.

I had taken her to the vet for additional x-rays of the elbows, knees and shoulders. The vet had discovered that she also suffered from elbow displaysia which was actually worse than the hip problem. When she was coming out of the anesthesia she vomitted and swallowed some into her lungs as she was still out of it. They kept her overnight for observation. She was reportedly okay the next morning but about 8 am. they told me that she threw a blood clot and died.

The poor pup had a lot wrong with her. Maybe this was the Lords way of taking care of everything. Nonetheless, this is going to take a while to get over. It' s amazing how close a grown man can become to his dog.

Illini,

I' m am so sorry to hear that. I' ve had my dogs " put under" a few times and my dogs coming out of ansethesia has been more worrisome than their reason for being there. It stinks losing a dog... They are part of the family. Again, my condolences.

Sorry Illini, We all know how important our dogs are to us, and our families. I have never lost a dog from anesthesia, but have always worried about it. Will the breeder replace the pup? Once again please accept my condolences,

Michael

Illini - My heart goes out to you and your family...it is a very hard thing to lose a dog you love. Take comfort in your belief that the Lord' s work was done...over time, it will help ease some of the pain.
