Louisiana Catahoula Leapord Dog

I'm buyin a Catahoula i'm gonna use it for tracking wounded deer.Has anybody ever used or owned 1.I heard that there good trackin dogs.

I don't know anything about what they can do, but they are very cool looking dogs. Most dogs can be trained for tracking though. People around here use lab's for tracking wounded deer just because they are Lab crazy.
The Catahoula oughta work. You just got to show him what he's after.

Catahoulas will work great for tracking wounded deer!! I raise the and use them for Hog hunting and all around farm and and guard dog.

One piece of advise...get a young pup and train him obedience at a early age. CLC's are a very domineering and headstrong breed and must be taught the basics at a early age. Do this and you will have no problems.

I have owned about every breed out there and there isnt a more loyal, smarter, and better all around dog thn a Catahoula.
