Default Slow Waterfowl -- Decent Upland

Last Saturday, the day started off with the valley where we hunt sounding like Viet Nam. LOTS of Elk hunters out for the opener and I think quite a few nice bulls were taken. Probably heard more than two dozen shots within the first couple hours. Yesterday, we only heard two rifle shots all day.
There were very few waterfowl around, so we decided to do a little Upland hunting. Got these two decent (wild) roosters in addition to 5 Quail.
Supposed to get winterish starting this coming Thursday (winter is supposed to hit Alberta on Friday) so there should be some migrators showing up within the next couple weeks.

Good hunting Doc !! Those pheasants can be fun and those wild varietys must be a lot more challenging..

Default Beautiful

Those are beautiful dogs! Nice catches. Sad to hear about the slow shooting, but always nice to see some bird in mouth!
