More advice on training needed... Marking and blind retrieves

I have an 8 month old lab. She is doing great! I have had her out for early teal and she has retrieved 4 birds so far. However I lost two birds because she didnt see them. Almost lost another for the same reason and had to throw a mud clump at the bird for her to fetch. How do I work on marking and blind retrieves?
