Default Tips on grooming needed.

I know this may be a trivial question, but I would like to begin home grooming on my English Springer Spaniel. I have had him for only a few weeks now and he is a very active one yr. old that always seems to come back to the house with me soaking wet from the pond and exhausted from running. It takes me over an hour to get him lookin' good again. He' s beginning to get a little shaggy and a trip to the pet groomer will be in order soon. I would like to begin this process at home. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance........Jimmy S.

I would say get you a pet grooming kit, then take him to the groomer and watch them very carefully to see how it' s done, and go from there.
good luck.

Tree Climber....Sound advice.......that' s what the wife and I thought would be the right way to start. I have seen a few Springer Spaniels and this guy is from a Canadien ch and his mother is a USA ch. Both champion lines, which is good indeed, but I got him as a family pet and possibly train him as a bird dog. We may show him later and my personal feelings are to keep him lookin' good without a monthly trip to the Groomer. Thanks again....
