When is a puppy old enough to sleep outside?

I live in South Carolina. Ill be buying buying a 7 week old beagle sometime around febuary. Will it be fine in the pen with a good box and lots of hay from the first day or does it need to stay inside for a while?

I have a pair of Black and Tan coonhounds that I put outside at 10 weeks old in early December. With plenty of hay, and plenty of food, they have continued to grow and thrive.
I personally think7 weeks might be a little early if they have been kept inside until then. However, I have a good friend who has had dogs for over 40 years, and he would not hesitate to put one outside.

too early.

but dont get him used to inside of house.

i would put him in a garage or enclosed back porch until about 12 weeks.
