Default Griffin

I have a 2 year old Griffin, and have had him since he was 9 months old. He really wants to please and he does an ok job but starting to not hold his point and flush the birds too early. My main problem is he is my first bird dog so he may be smart enough but I am not. What to do?

i have a griffon, theres pics of here on here somwheres, very very very smart dogs. mine isnt steady to wing and shot but i didnt train her to be but like the other fella said, do you kill birds w/ him?? i know mine would if i trained her but some instances i would rather have a flashpoint dog then not. but i also live in really nasty cover and shes works real close.....a 5-10 second point before a flush is fine w/ me
