Default DOG BARKING IN FRONT SEAT

my lab gets so excited to go hunting that he barks from time he gets in front seat to time i open door to go hunting.

well, it came to end last week, i said to myself, even if i ruin his urgeto go hunting, its going to stop.

how i did it worked.

when he got into front seat he started.

i yelled NO BARK.

i then backed the truck up, he started bad again, i shut the key off and yelled NO BARK.

i moved truck back and forth in driveway, doing this everyday for a week.

well, IT WORKED.

now when he gets into truck, he will bark and say in voice not as loud as first i did, NO BARK.

i am as happy as can be,it was so bad i was wearing EAR PLUGS to woods.

IMO, the dog should be in a crate, and not in the front seat. The crate is the equivalent to seat belts and air bag.

if he would not have stopped barking,no way he was going to be in front seat.

he is fine now and 40 years driving, so far, never had accident.

up here, no one has their dogs in kennel in truck bed.

down towards areas where people make good money, you see a lot of kennels in trucks.

It's your dog and it's your choice, but as I said before, "IMO, the dog should be in a crate, and not in the front seat. The crate is the equivalent to seat belts and air bag."

Do you use your seatbelt ?
If you do, do you use it because it's the law or because it's smart ?

There is a difference between being smart and being lucky.

i use my seatbelt because it is LAW.

if not law, i would not use it like everyone i know would not and a lot STILL dont use it even tho its law.

i also have seatbelt for toby which i use in front seat, not because of wreck but because he spits on my dash and this holds him away front dash more.

so, i do use doctor foster seatbelt on him but not because of SAFETY.

hey , i am not going to argue with you what is right or wrong.
no doubt from safety point ,your idea is correct but its like my dad of 94 years old.

HE WILL NOT WEAR HIS SEAT BELT AND THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE GOING TO GET HIM TO WEAR IT.

ITS HARD TO BREAK old school thinking.
