If the dog has heartworms, only a Vet can administer the medication butfirst the dog needs to be tested for heartworms (a blood test at the Vet).
Sometimes a dog needs to be made healthier before treatment can begin.
NEVER give a heartworm preventative drug if the dog has heartworms -- it will kill the dog.
See your Vet ! !

I have a female boxer and she weights 45 pounds. Tried many different types of dog food, wet canned and dry. She eats good but doesn't really gain any weight. The vet said she is a little skinny but healthy. Her parents were a nice size..I think the mom was 55 pounds and the dad was around 80 pounds.

i think a boxer is one neat house dog to have.

i really like them BUT health issues on them will cost you a lot.

they get hip problems and cancer a lot more than most dogs.

my sister had 4 boxers.all had bigtime problems and a lot of vet bills.

i asked vet if those boxers come in with problems, he said, yes.

other dogs that he sees a lot are LABS WITH hip problems but a lot of that is overfeeding a lab.

only trying to be helpful.'

you can do search of dogs and see which have what problems.

hey, i love to own boxer, they are really neat dog .
