Default Tracking Boxes!!

I am getting ready to buy a new box and I am hung up between two of them. I really like the wildlife 1000 and I have alot of experience with it. Then, this weekemd I got to try the quick trak 5000 and I was really impressed with that also. My question is this, does anyone have any exp. with the quick trak box, and what do you think of it.[8D]

I would personally choose the Wildlife 1000 over any other box out there (except maybe the Wildlife 2000). I have a friend that sold his Wildlife box to use the Quick Track 5000 & now he' s trying to sell it because he wants the Wildlife back. His biggest complaint is the Quick Track doesn' t pick up as far & has a couple extra knobs where the Wildlife is straight forward with the punch button #s.

I probably am going to stay with the wildlife, its just good to always keep your options open..

Hey Doghunter! -- what kind of dogs do you hunt? and how many do you have? I have nine fox hounds.

I' d like to know more about how these tracking boxes work and how much they cost? I have a coon hound and he stays within range with the e-collar. Are they worth puchasing when you have one or two dogs out coon hunting?

Right now I have 7 walkers that I use mainly for deer hunting but run on occasion in the fox pen. Got a litter of puppies due next month that should be pretty good.

If you want to track a buddy' s dog then check with them & make sure you get a box on the same frequency (216; 217; 219 etc). In my opinion & from my own personal experience the Wildlife trx 1000 is the best box on the market. Brand new it is $770, but worth every penny when you add up gas & time saved looking for dogs. This particular box covers the whole frequency range from 0-999 and will work with any brand collar on the same freq.
Good luck & Good Hunting!
