Default Labs Don't Really Point -- Do They ?

Here is a pic of Scarlet. Scarlet is my dog's daughter.
Scarlet lives in MN and will be the mom of our next pup.

My lab Sam(Fire of the Night)also points,he has Kelloge in himfrom his 3rd gen down.....I havent worked him for upland birds only waterfawl....

O no labs dont point at all. thats why there are several kennels across the nation that specialize in pointing labs.

That is a good looking dog and good looking point.

Now that is a point. My Lab points but nothing like that. I call it "Locking up on the bird" because it is not a true point, I then send him in to flush the bird. Doc doyou send yours in to flush the bird? I did not even know they pointed until mine did quail hunting 2 years ago. So this pointing thing is new to me, but it is cool to watch.

Well I have a 2 year old Black Lab mixed with a Sapniel and he is starting to point when I come home in the morning and now i'm thinking about taking him out bird hunting do you have any Techniques you could hand down??
