Default Another LMAO

This morning I'm taking mylab mixfor his normal romp, through a park with adjacent riparian meadow and woods. Been here over 6 months, and never jumped a pheasant, although it is good cover for them. This morning we jumped a big ol' rooster, he flew over the open park and into the woods. My dog chased, and I let him, and when he didn't return after a few minutes I called him. He came out carrying that pheasant! I couldn't believe it. The bird seemed totally normal when we flushed it. There is lotta snow....

I'm sure this is a true story. My lab has caught many a pheasant and retrieved it to me as did her sister. I once watched her getting 'birdy' while out hunting with my friend. I no sooner let him know she was on a bird when it flushed almost under her nose. She leaped and batted it down with her paw, grabbed it and brought it back to me. The same day she pounced on one and had it trapped under those low lying briar type plants like it was netted. My friend asked why I even carried my shotgun!
