Default foot problems

have any of you had problems with the nails on your dogs feet? I have a 2 year old springer and last time out the nail on the outside toe on
both rear feet were bleeding and very tender, now I could see 1 foot getting cut but the same toe nails on both rear feet, is it a coincidence or a potential problem???? he is a close worker and doesn't go 100 miles an hour. I am just a little concerned.

Thanks in advance
