Default coon dogs?

any y'all have coon dogs and coon hunt? if y'all do Id love to see some pictures. coonin is a thing I really wanna get into but the folks wont let me have a hound, all they have is two english bulldogs, aint good for nothin sept eatin, sleepin, and beggin. I want a dog I can use and hunt with. anyway, I really wanna get into cooning when I get older. I hear that a Walker is the best coon hound there is. Would love to see any pic y'all have of your coon huntin results and/or dogs. Thanks

Ban Canned Hunting. If you don't speak up against it you are part of the problem.

Travis, How old are you and where are you located? I have a one year old plott/cur pup I will give you. Here are some photos of our walker in action....His name is Cinch. Of course his pedigree name is long but we call him Cinch. If I can get a photo of 2 dogs in the daytime up, that will be ol' Cinch again as well as Sars's Dryridge Scooter or...Scooter for short. She is less than a year old. She is an Original Mountain Cur. I would recommend this breed because they tree squirrels in the daytime and coon at night. They can be trained to hunt bear, hogs, and coyotes as well.

Wish me luck on getting the pics up here.

Travis, here are some more....notice that dark streak under ol' Cinch's chin...that is blood where he bit his tounge barking so hard. He rattles off about 80 barks a minitue~! That little cur Scooter can bark over 100 times a minute!!!

Here's the one with the bloody slobbers underhis chin. I will stop now and let someone else post. Let me know if you want that pup....I have some pics of him as well as others of Cinch and Scooter if you want to see them. Hound/Cur Hunting for coons is becoming a lost heritage as hide prices are down lower than they were 50 yrs ago.

Take Care, Stay in the woods!!!

Dave, that is a beautiful dog. Im only 14, and my parents wont let me get a coon dog. But if I could, I would buy that dog in a second, it is really a beaut. I really wanna get into coonhunting when I get older, it's hard around here, I mean, i could do it, there's enough woods, but there are alotta houses here in Connecticut, too crowded...thansk for the pictures, and good luck with that beautiful dog.

cthunter, too bad you can't have a dog where you live. There's nothing like a young man and his dog to wreak havoc on the wildlife....lol. You seem like a fine young man. I like your signatures and pic. of "The Duke". I will post one more pic. and this will be the dog I was gonna give you. Wouldn't have to pay for him. He is a Plott dog. He would love to chase those ct. bears and coyotes in the day time.

If you ever make it to WV let me know....We'll go hunting. My son would be glad to take you....Cinch is his dog. (but I am the one that has to take care of him)...Ha Ha Ha.

Like that dog, but I'm like you and had to discontinue my dog days. Dog hunted hogs and cross bred Rhodesian, Catahoula and Pit Bullsfor over 50yrs.

Catahoula
