Default Treeing Feist Squirrel Dogs

Hello Everyone:

I am new to this forum and I like the looks of things. Keep up the good work!

Anyway, I grew up huntin' squirrels like most people by mostly sitting and watching and waiting and watching...and every once in a while move to a new spot (while pausing and watching) and repeat. While I still like to hunt that way (especially on a tree full of hard mast or a mulberry tree full of soft mast; I like this new way too...

Relatively recently, I got into huntin' squirrels with dogs. It's a blast! We hunt Treeing (aka Mountain) Feist Squirrel Dogs.

There are many dog breeds that you can use to hunt squirrels but I think most people hunt them with either Curs or Feist. Anyone else hunt with Treeing Feist?

Our little feist was born around jan 10 2006
I am going to try to train him for a squirrel dog.

By the way where do you live ?

I would like to find someone close by to go squirrel hunting with
And let my feist hunt with another one.

I looked at youe site at the bottom of your signature.
And my feist puppy looks just like your fiest
The one named Trigger.
Even the color is the same.
The brown spots on his head looks just like
The spots on my feist puppy.
I will post a picture of him as soon as I can get one.

I grew up in Virginia (my parents live there) so I am there from time to time. I just graduated from college in Maine and it is lookin' like I am going to be heading out to South Dakota soon to start grad school. I know that doesn't sound very promising for getting together to run our feist dogs but you never know. Where is Seagrove, NC?

I can't wait to see a picture of your pup. Did you read the rambling post I made about training? If you have any questions let me know. There are a lot of squirrel dog people (Feist and Cur) in North Carolina. You should check out Squirrel Dog Central to read more on training and a lot of other topics relating to squirrel dogs. I have the same name over there. It is (http://www.sqdog.com). You should be able to find people there in NC you could meet and run dogs with too.
