Devil's Advocate....
If I hunt a few fields that always has turkeys in and near that area, why continue to scout early?
I can hit the woods near those fieldsthe weekend before the season opens and hear the toms at first light.
They have been there for years.

We then setup in our usual places about 15 yds off the fields's edge and get ready to enjoy some turkey hunting. We may all not tag our bird every year but it's a very slow day when sightings are nill.

I hunt in the river bottoms of the Missouri river, and turkey's don't have a ridge to get up on to gobble from. So they use the levy's to post up on. I use alot of lonesome hen setups to get them to come off the levy and down to the edge of the woods. seems to work the best. it's pretty sweet to be able to see for about a mile and see all the groups off birds along the levy. If you've got anymore tips for river bottom birds post some.

People ask me why i do it... why i sit through the elements, wake up early, sit around in the woods and watch for animals. why i get a rush from killing an animal. and all i say is... you just answered your own question.
