Default NEED HELP!!!

I've been hunting since I was 3 years old, but I've never hunted outside my country much less my state...I want to surprise my best friend with a hunting trip out of state for his 18th birthday and I'm on a budget...Does anyone know anywhere I could take him that won't cost me several thousands of dollars? Or does anyone have any better ideas? I want it to be really special. Let me know, Thanks

VAHORNS... Let me be the first to welcome you to the board!!! There are a great group of people on here and very helpful as well. Just remember not to take everything to heart when they start to pick on what brand of weapon you shoot etc... most of it is good natured ribbing!!!!

It would probably be helpful if you told everyone where you were from I am taking from you screename that you are in Va but what part of Va.. I am in the Fredericksburg / Stafford area myself.

Also what type of game and what style of huntign where you looking into deer, bear elk?? bow, black powder. rifle.????

I might be able to help directly, if I cant then I can certainly point you to people who can.

Once again welcome and have fun on here!!

Justin

There is a caribou hunt you can do in Canada. Semi-guided on the Cree indian land. Just south of Hudson Bay. It is a long drive, but you get 3 caribou and logding. The hunt is in Oct/Nov time frame and cold. They put up a plane twice a day to find the herd and then give you directions. The rest is up to you. Longest drive is about 30 miles from camp and there will be snow. Not Far enough north to worry about polar bears either.

Maine huh? I would love to get a Bear or Moose. I too have never been anywhere to hunt except N. Western NC and edge of VA. Could I get some info on Main?

IF anyone would be interested, The NC mountain Christmas tree farmers love to let you Deer hunt. A Buck can destroy some trees. Just stop and ask them.
