Default big cat?

the other day when i was hunting i heard a sound. it sounded like a little girl throwing a fit and screaming. the first thing that came to my mind was black panther. we were hunting near our old deer leasewhere there had been sightings of them i was wondering if ny of you geniuoses out there had any info?

i always known screech owls to kinda sound like a woman or little girl screamin but i suppose id have to hear it to be sure

DEPENDING WHERE YOU LIVE IT SOUNDS LIKE IT WAS A BOBCAT. WE HAVE THEM HERE IN VA AND THAT IS WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE. ALMOST LIKE A BABY SCREAMIN.

But again, there aren't known to be any lynx here in this state except really anywhere out west and in Canada, so it was more than likely a bobcat, I'd also have to say.

Have you ever heard a Peacock? When I was a kid a lady nearby had one that roamed around the woods and let out a scream every now and then and scared the he** out of us! You could have a cat...be careful.

All i know is the two times i heard one it made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. And yes in a strange kinda way it did sound like a woman screaming.
