Dear Georgia Friends,
Public records maintained by the Federal Election Commission indicate that the chief animal rightist political lobby, HumaneUSA Political Action Committee, has donated a total of $1000 to Republican Tom Price, the sixth congressional district August 10th runoff candidate. This is a substantial investment for the anti's, who only donated $4000 to anti-gun, anti-hunter, anti-animal owner incumbent California Senator Barbara Boxer.
The Humane USA Political Action Committee (HumaneUSA PAC) is the largest and most visible electioneering arm of the U.S. animal rights (AR) movement. Its members include The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), The Fund for Animals, Farm Sanctuary, ASPCA, Doris Day Animal League, Animal Welfare Institute, The Ark Trust, Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, and others. These groups continue to press their corporate and personal agendas to end sport hunting, federally license all purebred pet breeding, radically change livestock production and end animal medical research.
This anti-hunting, anti-animal owner PAC and its allies have endorsed and funded political candidates, influencing elections and legislation since 1999, reflecting the plan of HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle to make HSUS "the NRA of the animal rights movement." HumaneUSA PAC also endorsed Dr. Price's 2002 Georgia State Senate reelection campaign. It's not clear whether that campaign too was financially supported by the anti's.
Ask yourself: What do the anti zealots expect to receive for their donations? Dr. Price's campaign manager twice declined to discuss his relationship with HumaneUSA PAC.
If you plan to vote on August 10, 2004 in GA6, or know anyone in the sixth district, north of Atlanta composed of Cherokee, Cobb and Fulton Counties [Canton, Kennesaw, Marietta, Roswell, Smyrna], please *don't* vote for the anti's candidate, Tom Price, and advise others of this news. Sportsmen, livestock and pet owners need to send the anti's an unmistakable message "No! Enough. No More!!"
Runoff primaries frequently have very low voter turnouts. Either Robert Lamutt or Tom Price is going to Congress for as long as he wishes to be there, given the reelection advantage of incumbency. That's a very long time to regret your voting choice, or wish that you'd taken the time to go to the polls on August 10th.
Kindly share this message widely.
Sincerely,
Bob Kane
