Default Any "Geo" hunters out there?

I am planning on sponsering a "Geo" hunt this summer,,,sometime around July or August. The concept is pretty simple, you take a bunch of ammo boxes and fill 'em up with cool stuff and then hide 'em in the woods...You then provide the "hunters" with only a topo map and grid coordinates. The "hunters" then find the boxes, sign a log and either replace something that they took with something else, or just add to the stash.

Well, I just found out that there is already a whole "movement" dedicated to this same concept, and that there is already thousands of stashes all around the country, and hundreds of them right here in Virginia.

Anyone here ever participated in something like this?

Is anyone here interested in participating in something like this.

Hey Dave, I'm a cacher. Been caching for a little over a year.

Jorgy, thats the site that I have been visiting for the last few days getting ideas.

I was thinking about making it (mine), a once or twice a year event. Something along the lines of having really good caches stashed in the woods, culminating in a big BBQ/beerfest.

Jorgy, From the support that I am receiving from "other" lodging owners in the area, I suspect that it might turn out to be pretty good sized event. I will go foward with advertizing here in the next few weeks. If you are inclined to travel a little, I will offer you some kind of "hunting net" rate.

we have geo cashers come out to where i work from time to time....of course we all had to go looking for the items...lol...we left them, all but one box, it was in an usafe place, an old barn from the early settlers....if you're doing such things or planning too, keep safety in mind...that barn could of collasped on someone...it was reburied all life was grand again in geo land,
