Every year we go on a horseback riding/turkey hunt in southern Indiana we ride in the Harrison Crawford State forest and hunt turkey. This year we would like to hit the Kentucky opener and then head back to Indiana for the opener there.I am wondering if there is any public ground in northern kentucky with a good number of birds and a horsemans camp? I am looking at peabody WMA but I am not sure if they have a place for horses any info or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
peabody does not have trails for horseback riding, they do have a lot of birds though. 80,000 acres and 1 game warden so i wouldnt leave my horses unatened.
I also remember that there is a new campground in muhlenburgh county called HORSESHOE ACRES that is very close to the Peabody WMA and is exactly what you are looking for. the phone # is 270-338-9800.
