Default Hunting info for Killeen, TX area?

My wife could get stationed at Ft. Hood later this year, and I was wondering what the hunting was like in the area. Is access hard to come by? What is there to hunt? Is the deer population very good? Any info would be much appreciated.

Fort Hood has one of the largest training areas in the country. You can hunt on post, however the deer are tiny.
