Default My daughter' s deer

Took my daughter with me this morning on opening day of BP for W of the BR. This was her first shot with a gun bigger than a 22. I was trying to video and I actually have footage of the deer, but the rail around my stand is too high for her. I set the camera down and let her sit on my lap. She took him at about 75 yds +/-. There were other deer in the field and I took a 4 pt. Needless to say her deer is already at the taxidermist. I wouldn' t be as excited if it had a shot it myself. It has definitely been a memory maker day!

Also the earlier post about the rut, well they' re definitely chasing the does now.

Nice deer, congratulations to you both.

I' m hunting in Frederick Co. as well, and that' s the first buck I' ve seen this year

Only have been seeing does on my property, so I' m just going to have to wait until Monday to get me one, or when the regular gun season comes in.

Congrats again, those are some nice deer.

You know, now that I think about it. I heard two gunshots relatively close together this morning, they were probably 10 or 15 seconds apart (if I remember correctly), and I thought that was kinda strange being this is muzzleloader season. Could you be that close to where I' m hunting?

I hunt off of Hollow Rd (sorta). Just curious where you might be located.

See plenty of deer around here but haven' t seen any signs of buck yet.

[&:]I grew up near Hollow Rd, actually out on 522, but I was quite aways from your area. No chance that it was me. I still hunt back home, but not that often. The majority of my hunting is done in Clarke Co. It' s hard to find a good place to hunt, but I learned if you pay your dues in the summer time (mending fence, making hay, etc...) come deer season, you' ll have a place.

I figured it would be a stretch that it might have been you, but you never can tell .

Thanks for the reply,

I wouldn' t have had it any other way. Someone once said, " Life' s greatest trophies aren' t the ones taken, but the ones shared."
