What the hell is this noise in the woods? Mountain Lion?

I just heard this sound from the ravine behind my house. It makes the hairs on my neck stand up. Ive never heard anything like this before. What is this?

It could be a coyote, they make some strange noises and so do raccoons. It is not a cougar though.

Sounds similar to a bobcat but can't hear it real well

I know this is an old post and cannot hear it very clear but pretty sure its a red fox calling. I have heard them call like that around the house.

I say its a fox, I have a ton of them here all the time, and MAN they make some odd noises, some times if I wasn't watching them at same time I would swear it wasn't possible for them to make em??

so, a fox gets my vote here
and a big NO on a cougar? IMO
