Has anyone hunted turkey in GS WMA? I got award a quota permit for March 2015. I've never seen any turkey out there. Looking at the map on FWC site, it looks to have a large population around GS. I guess will be doing some scouting while I look for deer.

A year or so ago, someone posted about a great day of Turkey Hunting at Green Swamp(or Green Swamp West can't remember) I looked on this thread and did not see it, must be on another thread. Anyway, he said he was deep in, and while scouting, he found a roost of at least 20. He hunted them early next day and scored. sorry, not much help, Good Luck

Went to the swamp saturday n aint see nothin but an almost all black coon n an otter...i havnt seen but 2 does as far as deer go this season...yesterday i went to a few different areas i hunt n found 0 deer sign...usually by now rubs n scrapes have started to appear...anybody else seein any deer sign? 471 check station total is at 13 deer n 33 hogs...thats very low considerin there is only about 4 weeks left...hopin we can get some cold weather...pry would help

Got a nice 6 point buck 2 days ago...that was number 5 on the Rockridge side..used 00 buckshot...Deer snuck up on me...I could not shoulder the shotgun...He was directly in back of me..I used the 870 Remington Mag..like a pistol..I pointed instead of aiming...9 pellets to the head..15 yd shot...died on contact...Happy Camper.

Thanks so much Bugs for your reply...plus a friend of my son gave him 35 pounds of ground venison...which he gave to me...so I'm set..[--; I made the best sausage ever yesterday...we eat the liver and heart so I got 32 meals out of the 6 point..Hope you and your wife have a blessed 2015,
