Default Scutting times.

I' ve hunted Dick Cross wma in meck. va. and planning to hunt Powhatan wma I' m planning on doing some scoutting before muzzle ldg season. (1st part of Nov.) Does anyone know about how many weeks/days would safe to start scoutting? I was gonna try to start about 1st part of Oct. Thanks in advance. BuckDiesel.

I would try to get your scouting done before the end of this month! Bow season opens the 4th of October.

I hunted Powhattan last year. Yeah I would say get your scouting done early. concentrate on rublines and try to stay away from the area where they run dogs. Even before gun season starts you' ll have lots of people out there running their dogs. it really pressures the deer. If you are willing to do some serious walking you should check out the swamp areas. I don' t know if I' ll be out there this year or not. Got my sights on a few other places. Good luck.
