Default South Carolina food plots

Hey fella's looking to do a couple small food plots on our lease this year. Nothing major maybe 4-5 half acre plots around the club. Our clear cut has gotten so high over the years and it's gonna be pretty tough to get the deer out of it so we figured we would try a food plot of two.
Just curious what would be a good choice to plant in SC. We were thinking about just doing turnips but from what some farmers have told us they just have no been hitting them like they should. Any suggestions?
