Default Central VA Turkey - Powhatan or Amelia WMA??

Looking to get into my first spring gobbler hunt this season. I won't have a ton of time to get out there....hoping for two, maybe three hunts. Does anyone know which WMA holds the most turkey (Amelia or Powhatan)? They are equidistant from my home, so it doesn't matter to me which one it is. I will try to go during the week to cut out the heavy weekend hunting traffic.

I have hunted deer in Pocahontas State Park, but have never seen nor heard turkey there. I also have some private land up in Caroline that I can hunt, but never seen turkey there either.

you cant hunt amelia wma without haveing a permit till a certain date not really sure what the date is. Amelia is a lottery hunt you have to send in the formin the back of the handbook along with some money. But later on in the season you can hunt with out the permit.Im not so sure about powhatan.i do know there is birds at both places . I will be hunting amelia wma myself from time to time . gl hope this helps
