Default Jefferson National Forest

Does anyone hunt the Jefferson National Forest in Wise, Scott, Dickenson counties. How is the deer hunting in those areas or counties?

I hunt in the George Washington Nat'l Forest, but not the Jefferson. From what I have heard and/or read, those counties in the SW section of Virginia don't really hold a lot of deer. It's mostly bear hunting out that way, and also maybe elk (if they come over the mountain from Kentucky).

Used to hunt it in Smyth and Grayson counties. Lots of good hunting if you are willing to go in deeper than the average hunter.
