Default Va urban archery

Haven't seen much on the board about people hunting the urban season. Anyone going out? I've been out a couple times, killed a doe last week. Landowners I've talked with complain about how much of a nuisance the deer are and "want them all gone" before they plant their gardens. This is my first year with permission to hunt on urban land. What an experience to be bowhunting in Feb/Mar.

I have also been out a few times but haven't had any luck. All of this in January before the snowstorms. I spent to much time shoveling my driveway and getting to and from work to hunt. Now I am in Spring Turkey mode.

I am glad someone else feels Sunday is a bad day for me to hunt and this is why I can't hunt on Sundays.

I had a land owner complaining to my about all the deer that had moved in after the snow stop. They asked if I could thin them out a little. I said Virginia Game and Fish might have a problem with that seeing how the season is closed right. They thought they were part of the urban season but not in that county, its to bad I could have taken a few does out, that would really help thin the deer population up there.

Default expanding

mathewsmaniac,

The VDGIF just passed a proposition to expand the municipalities that are allowed to participate in Urban Archery this upcomming year. Wait until the new regs come out and you might have a area closer than you think!

I had a very good season in patrick county,va plus if you want to take a break from the cold of winter or you have just been hunting hard and need a break good ole urban archery ! I love it. one of the biggest bucks i've ever seen appeared last year right here in town in a small patch of woods he was every bit of a 165" deer just couldnt get it done with the bow too far out! hope he made it thru the year love another shot at him during regular season!
