Default Central Florida Turkeys - Public Land

Heading south for some Florida turkey action this spring with the wife. Will be hunting public land...Green Swamp East, Three Lakes, or Bull Creek. Currently planning to be there March 25th-April 2nd. I've got the license info and regs. Just need to know how to find the birds. Will also be camping. Any advice?

Step A...Go deep near a water source..with tall trees.

B...Using a good loud, realistic call give a yelp..and listen..if nothing..walk another 300 yds and proceed until you get a gobble gobble..
C. when you do move to within 70 yds..yelp again...if gobble sounds off set up a quick blind..from the natural stuff around you..I carry a light camo net with me in my back pack with a hen decoy..
D. face the decoy about 30 yds out looking at ya..
E. yelp again...
if you get an snswer..be still for about 5 minutes..then give some realistict cut and purrs...you are playing hard to get..to many yelps sends them running away..NO MORE YELPS..only soft purrs..about every 5 minutes..be still and wait..
Have shotgun ready..this set up has worked for me.
